Where We LIved

This is a copy of a paper that my mom, Kate Barnett, wrote about every place she lived, the address, and how long she lived there. I have followed it with an additional list of where I have lived after I left home.

List of Places I Have Lived

I, Catherine Green was born July 18, 1924, the daughter of Alma Beatrice Coe and Andy Boyd Green, in a 1 room house that my parents were renting from Granddad Andy Ervin Green. It was near the railroad tracks and about three miles west of Colorado City, Texas.
Moved to a two room house in the west pasture of the ranch, a half mile from Granddad’s ranch house when I was about six months old. We lived there until I was five. Elnora was born three days before we moved.
Moved to the Old Home Place as Granddad’s ranch house was called and lived there two years. Wanda was born there and we got my five cousins to raise, Uncle Herb’s kids.
Moved to Stanton, Texas. A farm, one section of land, 7 miles from town. Daddy rented it for four years.
Daddy’s health went bad so Daddy, Mother, Elnora, Wanda and I with Uncle Jack Black, a second cousin of Daddy’s, moved to Silver City, NM. 5 days on the road in Model T pickup. Got to Silver City December 1934. Stayed one week in Silver City Court Motel (was still there when Kate and Bob moved there in 1970. But think it is gone now.) then we got a house in Cottage San that was by a water tank and stayed two weeks. We had Christmas there. Had to find a cheaper place to rent.
Moved to house on corner. 2 rooms and a bath. Stayed until May.
Moved to Apartment house for I year. Daddy had charge of renting houses.
Moved to brown house for 1 year.
Moved to F Street was last house south for 1 year. Daddy worked a gold mine for owner.
Moved to (not able to make out this word) near turquoise mine for 1 month – mining west of White Signal. (now a ghost town, maybe it was then, too)
Moved to Rodgers House 1 year in Silver Heights (housing area of Silver City).
Moved to Central, NM (Central was the name of small town south of Silver City that has now changed it’s, but don’t remember what it is) from Feb. to June. Daddy and Mr. Martin put in a laundry mat but it didn’t work.
Moved to Tyrone Road for 1 year June to Aug. 1940. Daddy worked a mine part time for a man.
Moved to Albuquerque August 1940 lived at Glick Place on Pajarita (area of South Valley of Albuquerque) Daddy worked for milk truck farm and did taxidermy, ect.
Moved to Facuat Place in Armijo (area of Albuquerque now) in 2941-42.
Kate married Herman ‘Slim’ Linsey 1942, moved to Gallop, NM for 2 weeks.(either this information is wrong or some of the notes I took from the stories she told me in the 1990’s was wrong, not that it really matters, but I think this is correct).

Was it both? I know they worked at a dairy and they didn’t like the man they worked for and he had a boy that worked for him and he was mean to the boy and they didn’t like it and they quit. She told me this when she was older but mostly still there especially on past events. I got the impression that her and husband #1 were getting along ok then.
